PCA Card Coming Soon
The RTC is now transitioning to a new reloadable tap card and reduced fare customers will need to setup an account on the rideRTC platform as part of the application process. You can setup your rideRTC account by using the rideRTC Online Web Portal or by downloading the rideRTC Mobile app on your smartphone.
Customers MUST select if they want to use their mobile app or a reloadable tap card at the time of application to receive their reduced fare benefits. Once your account is created, you will submit your registered email address as part of your reduced fare application. This applies in person or online.
Buying Reduced Fare Passes with the rideRTC app
The rideRTC app makes it easy to buy your passes from your phone.
- Download the app and set up an account
- Click on the “Profile” button under the “Utilities” menu in the upper right-hand corner
- Next, click on the “My Discounts” button
- Enter a Reduced Pass ID number, which can be found on your Reduced Fare ID card.
If you do not have a Reduced Fare ID card, you will need to apply for one. See details below.
Reduced fares are also available for purchase with the Transit or Uber app.
There are three steps customers with Reduced Fare I.D., Veterans I.D. and Mobility Trained I.D. will need to follow when boarding.
- First, show the transit operator the RTC-issued I.D. card to prove eligibility for the reduced fare rate.
- Second, swipe the pass to pay fare or insert money in to the farebox. (Paratransit customers would skip this step.)
- Third, tap your RTC-issued I.D. card on the electronic validator
For customers that have their I.D. card linked to their account on the rideRTC app, bypass the step of showing the transit operator the I.D. Instead, just scan your phone on the validator to pay the fare. If you have additional questions about the process, call our Customer Service team at 702-228-7433 between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. seven days a week.
